Accessibility Statement
1) Introduction
We are pleased to welcome you to our website and thank you for your interest.
Below you will find information about the accessible use of our online services.
We inform you about:
- which services and features you can expect on this website,
- how you can use these services and features,
- what options are available for accessible use, and
- which authority is responsible for monitoring accessibility on this website.
2) Services and Features of this Website
This website is an online shop for the sale of goods.
Goods are defined here as physical items.
You will be presented with products that can be added to an electronic shopping basket and then be conclusively ordered and paid for.
This website includes a header and a footer menu.
The header menu lists the products we sell by category, and they can be accessed individually from there.
Each product is described on its own detail page, including key features, scope of delivery and total price. From there, the product can be added to the electronic shopping basket.
Additionally, the shopping basket can be accessed via the header menu once you have added at least one product. From the basket, you can initiate and complete the electronic order process.
The footer menu contains links to our legal notice (imprint) with contact information, as well as information on the legal basis of our online services, shipping and payment options, and links to other helpful service pages.
3) Explanation of How to Use the Services and Features
3.1 Virtual Buttons
This website can be operated using virtual buttons.
3.2 Home, Overview and Product Detail Pages
On the homepage, you will find a selection of offered products in the central page area. By interacting with a product presentation, you will be taken to the product detail page.
You can navigate between different product categories using the header menu.
After selecting a category, you will be directed to an overview page where all products within that category are displayed.
By interacting with a product on the overview page, you will again be taken to the product detail page.
The product detail pages contain all essential product information and the total price. They may also include a quantity selection element and a basket button.
If available, the desired order quantity can be set using the quantity selection.
3.3 Electronic Shopping Basket
By clicking the basket button, the product (in the selected quantity, if applicable) is added to the electronic shopping basket.
You can access the basket at any time via the header menu.
You will then be able to review the products added. Using appropriate buttons, products can be removed or the order quantity can be changed, where applicable.
3.4 Electronic Order Process
After reviewing the basket, you can complete the order process by interacting with the corresponding buttons.
You will first be asked to enter your contact details (at a minimum: name, email address, and delivery and/or billing address) via a form.
In the next step, you can choose from the available delivery or service options.
Finally, you can select one of the available payment methods, enter the necessary payment data, and complete the order.
The binding placement of the order only occurs when you click the designated order button on the final order page. This button is labelled with "Buy", "Buy now", "Place binding order" or another clear formulation.
Before clicking this order button, you can return to the previous steps at any time using the “Back” button in your browser and/or cancel the order process altogether.
If you choose an online payment method, you will be redirected from the final order page to the payment provider's system to complete the payment.
4) Legal Requirements for Accessibility
This website, as an online shop, qualifies as a “service in electronic commerce” and is characterised by its capability for electronic ordering and payment.
It is therefore subject to specific legal requirements for accessibility.
In general, this website must provide functions and procedures that are tailored to the needs of people with disabilities and allow operability with digital assistive technologies.
The online shop features of this website must be
- perceivable,
- operable,
- understandable, and
- robust
in their design.
Perceivability means that the information and components of the online shop are presented in a way that they can be easily perceived by all users.
Operability requires that the shop’s functions can also be used by individuals with physical or cognitive impairments.
Understandability means that the shop's information and functions are logically structured, clearly recognisable and unambiguously labelled.
Robustness means that the content and functions can be used reliably and without limitations, even when users rely on digital assistive technologies.
If products offered in the online shop are themselves subject to accessibility requirements, information on their accessible use must be provided – where available – for such products.
5) Available Accessibility Aids
This website meets the accessibility requirements through the following measures:
- Alt text for images: Images in the online shop are provided with alternative text that briefly describes the image and can be processed by screen readers.
- Accessible captchas: To ensure that inputs are made by humans, so-called “captchas” may be used. These can be operated not only via visual recognition but also by solving simple cognitive tasks.
- Operability by mouse and keyboard: Online shop features can be operated using both mouse and keyboard. The keyboard's navigation keys can be used to move and activate the cursor within the shop.
- Browser-independent page display: Content and features of this website are available in the same layout, orientation, and resolution, regardless of the browser used.
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): A programming language is used that separates the visual styling (layout, colour, design) from the content structure. This enables digital assistive technologies to apply their own visibility schemes for displaying content.
- Validated HTML code: All HTML code is continuously checked for functionality to prevent failures and ensure compatibility with digital assistive technologies.
- Adequate spacing between characters: Text characters are displayed with sufficient spacing to ensure legibility.
- Compatibility with screen readers: All content in the online shop is compatible with common screen readers and can be read and processed accordingly.
- Responsive design (adapts to different screen sizes): Content, elements, and features automatically adjust in size to fit the screen being used.
- Scalability (visibility when zoomed): Page elements and content remain high-resolution and legible when zoomed in.
- Strong colour contrast: A high contrast between text and background colours is pre-set to ensure optimal visibility of page elements.
- Textual hints for unfilled mandatory fields: If mandatory fields are not filled out, a text-based message will appear in addition to a colour marking. This message clarifies which information is missing.
