What Should I Keep in Mind When Planning the Layout of My Shelving System?
Here you’ll find helpful answers to all your questions about the planning process. And if you still have any queries, our customer service team will be happy to assist you personally.
What design options are available?
Design your shelving to suit your preferences and the layout of your space. Depending on the shelving system, a range of different components, decors and configuration options are available. Some systems can also be planned with millimetre precision and to fit into corners or under sloping ceilings. The shelving planner allows you to see straight away what options your chosen system offers.
How can I open an existing planning?
You can easily load an already saved planning again. To do this, open the corresponding shelf planner and click on the "Open" button in the "Planning" area. In the window that opens, you can then enter the planning code you received by email.
What will my shelving system look like in my room?
As well as planning your shelving, you can also recreate your room to scale and position your shelving within it. Enter the room dimensions and, if necessary, add windows, doors or sloping ceilings. When planning your room, you can switch between floor plan and 3D views to see how your shelving will look in your room.
Can I also view my shelf in 3D?
Yes. Many of our shelving planners start directly in 3D view. Alternatively, you can switch between 2D and 3D view at any time. In 3D, you can rotate your planned shelving unit and view it from different angles.
Is there a way to keep an eye on the price whilst planning?
Yes. You can view the current total price of your planning at any time in the Shelving Planner. The item list also clearly sets out all the components with their respective prices.
I’ve finished planning my shelving. What’s the next step?
You can save your shelving plan and have it sent to you by email. You can also export your plan as a PDF. You can then add your planned shelving directly to your basket and complete the order as usual. When it comes to assembling the shelving later, you can access the saved plan again or use the PDF as a guide.
I’m having trouble finding my way around the planner. How can I get help?

How do I work out the correct dimensions for my shelf?
Carefully measure the available space in terms of height, width and depth. When doing so, also take into account skirting boards, protrusions or other features of the room. You can then enter the measurements you have taken into the configurator when planning your room and design your shelving to fit. For guidance, you can use the ruler function at any time to view the dimensions of your design.
Is there anything to bear in mind when planning a CLOS-IT corner shelving unit?
To install a CLOS-IT shelving system in a corner, a gap of 4 centimetres between the shelves and the wall should be specified in the shelving planner so that you can fit the shelves correctly in the corner.
Can I also send a sketch to customer services?
Should you need any help, our customer service team is on hand to offer advice and assistance. If you wish, we can also take care of planning your bespoke shelving unit for you – free of charge, of course. A sketch and some photos are the perfect starting point for the planning process. Does the shelving unit have a back panel if I have chosen doors?
With YOMO and the LIUM Cubes, a matching back panel is always included when you choose doors. With BOON, you can choose whether the shelving unit should be fitted with a back panel or not.
